Dayapuram Residential School follows the syllabi prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The Senior Secondary Section prepares the pupils for All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII). The medium of instruction is English.
SUBJECTS The following are the areas of learning for Classes XI & XII Group A : English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Malayalam/psychology/Computer Science. Group B : English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Malayalam/psychology/Computer Science. Group C : English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths Group D : English, Accountancy, Business studies, Economics, Malayalam/Psychology/Computer Science. Group E : English, History, Politics, Economics, Malayalam/Psychology/Computer Science. [General Studies, Physical and Health Education & Work experience will be the subjects for internal assessments.]
WORKING DAYS The Senior Secondary Section of the School works from Monday to Saturday and the school timing will be from 8.10 am to 3.10 pm. All the pupils should reach the School by 8.05am.The timings given in the prospectus may change during the academic year. Holidays for the year will be given in the Pupil's Diary. Special classes may be arranged for selected classes during holidays also. The pupils should attend such classes without fail. The School will not declare holidays on account of Hartal/Bandh organized by political parties, etc. .
ADMISSION i) Admission to XI Standard is open to pupils irrespective of religion, region or caste, subject to availability of seats. As regards, pupils qualifying from other schools, only girls will be admitted. Admission is restricted to students who have passed Secondary School Examination in March 2018. ii) Registration form for admission to XI Standard will be issued after the announcement of X Standard results by the CBSE. iii) Candidates will have to take the admission test based on Class X syllabus. Qualified students will be called for to complete the admission procedure on the basis of the rank list. The cost of application form and prospectus is Rs. 300/-. iv) Admission will be granted only if both father and mother of the pupil sign the application form and are present at the time of admission. If one of the parents is abroad or unable to attend, a letter to the effect that he/she has no objection in admitting his/her ward to the School should be produced and that he/she should come to the school, sign the documents on arrival from aborad. FEES - (The fee structure for the year 2023 -24 is given in menu 'mandatory public disclosure'). i) Three installments of fees to be paid as per Appendix-1. In case the due date is a holiday, the next working day will be considered as the due date for payment ii) For every payment of fees an official receipt should be obtained at the time of payment iii) Any amount remaining unpaid will be recovered from the caution deposit. PUPIL'S DIARY Every pupil will be supplied with a Pupil's Diary. This must be brought to the School every day. There are pages allotted in the Diary for communications between the Teacher, Principal and the Parents. It also contains information regarding co-curricular activities, excursion, schedules of Tests/Examinations of the School, leave and late attendance etc. Parents of non-resident pupils are requested to peruse the diary daily. Parents of the hostellers may go through the diaries whenever they get the opportunity. TEXT BOOKS All the text books prescribed are those published by the NCERT/CBSE. LAB FACILITIES There are full fledged labs in the School for Physics, Chemistry, Work Experience, Biology and Computer. A Mathematics Lab is also setup for the benefit of the pupils. Digital class rooms (Smart Class) are also introduced to improve skills of the pupils. Lab coat is compulsory during lab sessions. UNIFORM Wearing of uniform is compulsory for the students on all working days. INTERNET CENTRE Limited Internet facility is available on campus. The pupils can avail of the facility with the permission of the Principal, against payment of the prescribed charges. HOSTEL i) Presently, hostel facility is available only for girls (V std. onwards). Parents should seek admission to the hostel at the beginning of the academic year itself. The application form can be obtained from the Administrative Office. ii) The rules and regulations pertaining to the hostels are given in the “Hostel Manual”. Parents are requested to obtain a copy thereof and keep it with them for their information and guidance. iii) A hosteller suspended from hostel shall not enter the hostel or enjoy any facility she had as an inmate. Since students are not allowed to go out of the campus during working hours, he/ she has to bring the lunch from home. Moreover hostel being a part of the school, suspension from hostel might lead the ward to be kept out of the class during the period of suspension. iv) iv) Hostellers have to follow the mess menu strictly. The present mess fee is valid for six months. As the price of commodities increases day by day, a hike in mess fee can be expected after six months. DAY BOARDING For security reasons, students are strictly banned from going out of the campus during working hours. Lunch will be provided for the needy students by advance payment at the Administrative Office. DISCIPLINE i) The School attaches great importance to discipline and good behaviour of the pupils. Indiscipline in any form will be dealt with severely. Parents are requested to fully co-operate with the school authorities in ensuring proper behaviour and conduct of their wards inside and outside the school. ii) Students & Parents are requested to follow the rules and regulations of the institution strictly. NOTE : i) The parents should encourage the students to participate in the programmes conducted by the school authorities inside and outside the campus. |
